This pen is popular with urban sketchers becaue of the ability to experiment with line width. Works well with SAILOR KIWAGURO permanent (waterproof) ink.
The SAILOR Calligraphy Pen has a special curved nib (curved upwards at 55%) that gives variation in line width. You get a finer line with the pen held in a more vertical position and a wider line as you decrease the angle of the pen to the page. It takes some practice to use the pen, but it makes you draw more slowly, which improves your work and your ability to add expression to sketches. The 55 degree nib of this pen provides wider lines than the 40 degree blue pen.
The pen body is made from a dark blue AS resin and includes a clip. Takes SAILOR cartridges or converter (both sold seperately).
