Coloured Pencils
Coloured pencils, unlike graphite, are translucent and can be layered for beautiful effects.
Artist grade pencils contain better quality pigments and at higher concentrations than cheaper pencils and this affects their ability to laydown colour and remain light fast.
Coloured pencils are either wax or oil based, with many professional artists preferring an oil base to avoid wax bloom.
Student grade pencils are lower grade and more affordable for school use.
Sets of coloured pencils are available in 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 and for some ranges 120 colours.
