Jenny Gilchrist's Northern Beaches WC - Material List - Stage 1 - DANIEL SMITH 15mL
Jenny Gilchrist's Northern Beaches Watercolour. Stage 1 materials based on using DANIEL SMITH Watercolours. Please note for face-to-face classes Jenny prefers Winsor & Newton for both Raw & Burnt Sienna.
Jenny Gilchrist is a talented and passionate watercolour teacher based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Jenny believes in using artist grade watercolour materials as these will produce the best results and encourage you to continue with your painting.
This list includes the watercolour pigments that Jenny recommends for her Stage 1 students.
For the first 5 weeks you will need Cobalt Blue, Aureolin, Quinacridone Rose (or Permanent Rose) and Burnt Sienna. From week 6, you can add Raw Sienna and French Ultramarine. For Burnt and Raw Sienna, Jenny prefers the WINSOR NEWTON versions if stock is available.
For paper, we carry ARCHES in pads. SEAWHITE make good entry level practice paper in sketching and watercolour.
For a brush, Jenny recommends the NEVSKAYA PALITRA Series 2113 Squirrel Mop size 7 (or size 6).
For a palette, Jenny likes the deep-well stay wet style of palette where you squeeze a whole tube of paint into the well.
