Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils give the watercolour artist a fast way to lay down colour and add detail. We think these are the best watercolour pencils (especially if you only want to buy one set and use them dry or wet). Light-fastness is particularly good. If your budget is tight, select the 10 singles below (from which you can mix colours). If it's really tight, choose 3 primaries and add others as you can.

Primaries (yellow, 2 reds, 2 blues).
Green so you don't have to mix it all the time.
Earth tones x 3 because they appear so much in nature.
