Natural white, vellum like surface, in 150gsm with good amount of sizing that helps the paper handle reasonable amounts of water, despite the lighter paper weight. Suits dry media, pen & ink and light watercolour. Good for a beginner who might hesitate with heavier paper stocks.

This is the same Alpha paper as in the Stillman & Birn Beta hard cover sketchbooks. Stillman and Birn listened to urban sketchers and made this softcover sketchbook range in response to requests for a lighter weight book.
Contains 150gsm, medium grained, white paper. We have always favouried the 150gsm weight as it does not feel too precious to start but it handles water surprisingly well.
Soft cover sewn bindings which are flexible, rugged and upscale with rounded corners to prevent frayed edges.
Square format which makes it easy to take images for Instagram. 19 x 19cm. Lies flat once binding has been 'opened' and in the opened position provides a 19 x 38cm landscape spread.
