PELIKAN Edelstein - Pyrite - 5mL SAMPLE

This is a sample of the PELIKAN Edelstein Ink of the Year for 2026 and follows on from the popular shimmer inks, Golden Lapis in 2024 and Golden Beryl in 2021.

Named after the Pyrite gemstone, also know as "fools gold", it's an intense shimmer, with a greenish-yellow undertone. The heavy load of shimmer particles and antique look will make it more popular for art projects and creative uses, than for general writing. We are getting the best results on Tomoe River paper where is shows heavy shimmer and sheen over yellow ad earthy greens.

Suitable for use with broad nib fountain pens, dip pens and brushes.

Pyrite is a soluble dye-based ink with physical particles. As with any shimmering ink, shake the bottle before you fill the pen and wash out your nib and feed (or brush) more often than when using non-shimmering inks.

Otherwise pair with a high flow pen fitted with a wide nib, such as TWSBI Eco 1.1mm, to help you show off the shading properties.
