PRINCETON Neptune Watercolour Brush - Synthetic Squirrel - Quill Size 8 (14 x 41mm)

These are very good quality synthetic brushes and almost comparable to real squirrel. Great at holding water and very soft.

This is the Quill constructed with a polypropylene sleeve to maximise the volume of fibre in the brush belly. Designed for water holding capcity, this brush gives beautiful washes over large areas.

This brush holds a lot more water than the cheaper synthetics and suits artists who manage excess water well through brush wiping on the edge of the palette and brush blotting (on paper towel). Water capacity can be lessened by only shallow dips into water or paint.

The synthetic nature of the fibre also makes the point return after pressure better than with natural squirrel.

Beginners might prefer the Neptune brushes with a metal ferrule, that hold less water.
