FAQs

Is this ink waterproof? Yes. Once fully dry (takes a few minutes) it is highly water-resistant due to its pigment formulation.

Is it safe for all fountain pens? Yes, but it requires normal care. It is a pigment ink, so pens should be flushed regularly to prevent buildup. It’s best used in pens you use frequently. 

Will this ink clog my pen? Not if used properly. Particles are much smaller than shimmer ink, but regular cleaning still recommended.

How does it compare to De Atramentis Document black? Carbon is more matte and reflective, and a bit harder to clean out of pens. DA Doc ink looks more like normal ink and works better than Carbon when paper quality is poor.

Can I use this for drawing or sketching? Yes. It is popular with artists because it resists water once dry, making it suitable for ink and wash techniques.

Can I mix it with other inks? No. Do not mix pigment inks with dye inks in the same pen. Always fully clean the pen before switching inks.
