This is a sample of Pelikan Edelstein Onyx fountain pen ink. A black with subtle blue undertones.

Inspired by the Onyx gemstone, this ink shows shading properties on all the papers we tested, performing the best on Japanese paper stocks. A rich black that conveys confidence through strength. Suitable for everyday, but delivering a touch of luxury.

Edelstein inks are typically drier than most other inks, giving you a practical ink to use in pens where ink flow is too high or on paper likely to feather or bleed. A good option for a left hander who's grip makes it difficult to avoid smudging the ink just laid down.

Pair with a wide nib such as TWSBI Eco 1.1mm, to help you show off the shading properties.
