This is the PELIKAN Edelstein Ink of the Year for 2026 and follows on from the popular shimmer inks, Golden Lapis in 2024 and Golden Beryl in 2021.
Named after the Pyrite gemstone, also know as "fools gold", this ink of the year will add the next level of shimmer to your writing. Early swatches show a luminous gold colour with the shimmer providing a textural effect to add depth and elegance. A lovely way to enhance your journal entries and art projects. Suitable for use with fountain pens, dip pens and brushes.
Pyrite is a soluble dye based ink with physical shimmer particles. As with any shimmering ink, shake the bottle before you fill the pen and wash out your nib and feed (or brush) more often than when using non-shimmering inks.
