This is one of the best moderately priced magnifiers for looking a fountain pen nibs and the model we use for checking fountain pen nibs.

Two optical quality plastic lenses that give sufficient magification and field of view to obtain a clear image of the your fountain pen nibs.

The clear acrylic skirt allows light in and also shows you the focal plane of the magnifier so you know where to place the nib for the clearest view. When checking tine alignment, hold the fountain pen at a 45 degree angle to mimic the angle of writing. Then look across the top of the tines to check they are perfectly aligned.

Do not look directly at light sources or the sun with the magnifier.
