PILOT Custom 743 Fountain Pen (14ct Gold Nib #15, Con-70) - Black - FA (Modern Flex) Nib

This is the PILOT Custom 743, but fitted with the hard to come by, FA flex nib. 

The FA nib is one of the best modern flex nibs, with an elongated nib design with two cut outs for flexing the line width from EF up to B. Other ways to achieve line variation is with the Pilot Falcon or any of the Pilot pens fitted with a 'soft nib', but the line variation will be less than what you can achieve with a FA nib.

FA nibs are available in size #15 and size #10 and on the 743 it is the larger one. The design of both sizes provide about the same amount of flex, but the #15 on this pen is better suited to average or large hands.

Very comfortable pen that adds beautiful line variation and flourish to ordinary handwriting. 

As with any flex pen, the Custom 843 FA will slow you down just enough to marvel at what you produce! It takes a couple of weeks to master, as you learn to apply pressure on the downstroke and lift on the upstroke.

Best used with PILOT Iroshizuku ink as this is a high flow ink that will keep up with the ink supply needed for the wider line. Flush your new pen with water to increase the wettability of the brand new nib.

Comes with CON-70 converter. Also compatible with Con-40 converters plus the PILOT IC-50 cartridges.
