An extension of your hand

As an urban sketching specialist, we offer a wide range of watercolour brushes and many in travel format. When you can take gear outside you see real colours, light and detail, and learn to paint more confidently and quickly. Kolinsky Sable is the premium fibre for point and control, and Squirrel is the most absorbent for even washes. Both fibre types are also available in modern synthetics for a more affordable and vegan option. The best in travel format are Rosemary & Co R2 Pure Kolinsky Sable for detail work or R9 Pure Squirrel for a soft fibre. You can also simplify your set up to a single brush by using a Dagger, combining a point and an edge in the one brush head. Lots of special effects brushes, including stiffer fibres for texture and eradicators for lifting mistakes. Popular for traditional watercolour are Nevskaya Squirrel, Rosemary’s Squirrel or the well priced Seawhite Sable brushes. Learn about how to preserve your best brushes over on our Blog.
