There is no other medium that gives as much freedom as coloured pencils. You can draw or paint with them, and easily carry them into the field. Excellent quality pencils are available at an affordable price and not much other equipment or knowledge is needed other than paper, a sharpener and an open mind! Most popular brand for artists is FABER-CASTELL Polychromos and FABER-CASTELL Albrecht Durer Watercolour. Most surprising is DERWENT Inktense, which once activated with water, behave like ink.
