Pilot Iroshizuku fountain pen inks are high quality Japanese inks known for good flow, vibrant colours and consistent performance in just about any fountain pen. Well packaged in elegant, stable glass bottles, to help you avoid potential spills. At the time of writing there are 27 colours in the range, including 3 that are officially discontinued* but still available while stocks last. There is hardly an unpopular colour in this range, but here are the top 7 sellers, which are all available in 15mL and 50mL bottles, and our generous 5mL wide mouth sample vials:

  1. Kon-Peki (Deep Cerulean Blue): Our top seller. A vibrant blue with hints of cerulean. Like the Australian sky.

  2. Take-Sumi (Bamboo Charcoal): A classic black ink, with subtle cool shading. Reliable and versatile.

  3. Tsuki-Yo (Moonlight): A sophisticated teal color, with hints of grey and green. Flows well.

  4. Yama-Budo (Crimson Glory Vine): A rich, vibrant shade of magenta with hints of purple. High sheening ink. Popular for handwriting and artwork.

  5. Syo-Ro (Dew on Pine Tree): It goes down blue, dries green. Surprises you everytime.

  6. Shin-Kai (Deep Sea): A mysterious blue-black ink with some sheen. Good choice for formal writing or artistic works.

  7. Asa-Gao (Morning Glory): A blue with hint of jacaranda. Vibrant and uplifting.

Our general rule of thumb is the more saturation you can see in a colour, the better the ink will flow.

All top 7 colours also available in cartridges, except Syo-ro. Beautifully packaged and a thoughtful gift for anyone starting out with a Pilot fountain pen.

*Recently discontinued colours include Tsuyu-kusa, Ina-ho and Tsukushi announced in 2021, and Tsutsuji, Kosumosu and Kiri-same announced in 2024.  The 3 newest colours are To-ro, Syun-gyo and Rikka.
