# FABER-CASTELL Studio Quality Permanent Oil Pastels - Box of 24

These studio quality oil pastels from FABER-CASTELL are a great way to work with intense colours on a wide range of surfaces. Excellent for lines, cross-hatching, pointillist effects, and areas of intrense colour. They can also be wiped like conventional pastels.

Here's a few tips...

1\. Start with the darker colour and overlay it with a lighter one or, alternate the colours (hatching) and then wipe with a finger.

2\. Light oil applied to a drawing with a paintbrush gives an even effect, very suitable for backgrounds.

3\. For colour transitions, run two colours up against each other, with overlap, then wipe with a finger.

4\. For sgraffito effect, apply a colour with good covering power then scratch with a knifeto revealthe colour below.
